Crest Whitestrips

mmkay I feel really dumb.

So I bought these and today am trying them for the first time. I'm on my 3rd set - the first one I couldn't get the bottom to stick at all. The second one stuck but slid off my teeth after about 5 minutes. I'm trying really hard to like, breathe with my mouth open and not touch them with my tongue but I have to keep swallowing or I"m going to drool and when I swallow I feel them move a ltitle bit and I'm afraid they're going to slide off again (it's been 13 minutes).

I know loads of people use these things - am I doing it wrong? Do the rest of you have one of those suction straws like at the dentist or something?

[QUOTE]I had trouble with them too ceh. I produce a lot of saliva so I have problems keeping my teeth non slippery. I've dried mine with a paper towel and that helps, but I generally just kind of hate them. lol. Before that I tried keeping my lips away from my teeth so that they would kind of dry, but I'd end up drooling a lot and then they'd slide after a few minutes. It's too late for me to do it before the wedding, but I want to get some trays made so i can do whitening gel. FI has these and they rock.

I have used the 2 hour whitening treatment that you can buy at drugstores (can't remember the brand name...) and noticed a pretty significant difference.
  • I had the same problem and thought I was doing it wrong too :P I ended up drying my teeth off first, sticking them on, and putting wads of tissue in my mouth to soak up the excess substance that just seems to multiply :P I feel disgusting when I use them so I don't let anyone see me while I'm doing it, but the results were good :)

I didn't want FI to see me do it either - I'm so glad I work from home and could do it during the day.

I have no idea why I didn't think about that stuff. I've seen it. Maybe I'll pick some up tonight.

  • When I use them I dry my teeth, stick them on, and then just keep my mouth closed like normal. I swallow like normal and if the strips loosen at all I just stick them back on with my tongue and hold them down for a few seconds. Beyond the tongue trick, I'll just open my mouth and squeeze them against my teeth with my fingers. I've never had a problem using them this way and have used them on and off for years now.

  • I like the Crest Whitestrips Advanced ones way better. They stick like glue!
