Re: make my hair grow.

  • i'm usng Profectiv and generally just trying to take better care of it, brush/comb it more, condition, etc
  • Your hair grows on average 1/2 in. per month.  There's not alot you can do to speed it up unfortunately.  Some girls swear by Biotin or prenatal vitamins.
  • I've heard of using Bamboo Hair Oil from Sephora will stimulate growth.  My aesthetician recommended Viviscal - it helps thicken hair too.  I read brushing hair regularly and rinsing your hair in cool water helps.   Also I read that using a home remedy of eggs or mayonnaise treatments too.  I'm also taking Biotin so that hopefully my nails get stronger too.

I have no idea if this all works yet because I just started - but it's worth trying!

  • I took prenatals two times last week then left the bottle at my grams house...my toe nails and finger nails grew like rockets. Back on them as of today so we shall see. I am OK with the hair not growing too fast as I don't have time or money to cut or dye it before the wedding.

  • Everyone I know who has had a baby had their hair grow like a weed during pregnancy.  Get pregnant!
  • My mom swears by prenatal vitamins.  I don't personally know if they work since I haven't tried them.  My hair is to long and too thick as it is.

Try it out.  It is only a few dollars for a bottle.  It can't hurt.
  • Make sure you trim off the dead ends regularly because it helps. Also, to keep it from breaking, use a wide tooth comb when it's wet, never a brush and don't wrap it in a towel, cause it can make it break (if you're being hyper cautious). My hair grows best when I eat more protein. I've also been using the Garnier Fructis Long and Strong Conditioner and my hair has been great. I'm actually kinda shocked by that.

  • As long as your doctor says it's ok, I'd try taking biotin.  It's one of the B vitamins.  I notice a big difference in the growth of my nails especially.  They don't break as often.  It has also helped keep my hair healthier looking.  My hair dresser recommends it.  Apparently Ovation Cell THerapy shampoo and condition works well but I've not used it personally.  Keep getting regular little trims so your hair looks the best it can.  I totally sympathize with your plight.  I cut over 12 inches of hair off the night befor my FI proposed and am now frantically trying to get it to grow back.  It's now 3 inches past my shoulders and it has been 8 months.  It was just above my ears when I got it cut.  Good luck.

  • Silicea, I've heard can strengthen your hair as it grows
  • I've heard good things about Mane & Tail shampoo.

  • what style is it that you want? and how long is your hair? I am a stylist and had a bride with shoulder length hair that wanted a super fancy updo.. for about $30 at Sally's we bought enough hair to fake the do great, and it cost next to nothing compaired with real extentions and none of the hassle.

I would def consult with your stylist and see what she can do. Some of the hardest updo / styles I have done is b/c the hair is TOO long.
  • I have been taking the vitamin call Viviscal and I am almost through my first box (it says for best results to take for six months) and i love it. My hair is usually falling out in the shower and now it's not, and I've seen a little bit of growth in my hair and it's so shiny now! I bleach my hair and use a straightner and blowdryer so it helps. It also helps with the growth of your nails. Good luck! P.s. I found mine at Walgreens
