Makeup Trial and tipping

I have my makeup trial today and I'm just wondering, are you supposed to tip for a trial?  I know it's completely up to me but I'm just wondering if a tip is usually customary or not.

Re: Makeup Trial and tipping

  • I would tip as long as you like the results and will be using the same person for the wedding.  If you do not like the results then you do not need to.
  • Thank you so much for the responses.
  • It depends.  Are you going to a department store and having a trial with a particular make up brand? If so, generally those girls aren't allowed to accept tips and would prefer you to purchase the products.

  • I tipped 10 and hated it, looked like a damn drag queen but still, it's customary. She didn't mean to make me look like that. i'm just a little picky! :)
  • To me a tip = excellent service.
  • the trial is a service they are performing for you. I believe that you should only not tip if you did not like the service. if you liked the makeup (even if you won't be going with that makeup artist) then you should tip. just my opinion.
