Keratin treatment?

Recently I've heard a lot about keratin treatments for curly hair. It sounds too good to be true...making curly hair straight while strengthening it. Has anyone tried it and if so, would you recommend it? And if you don't mind sharing, about how much did it cost? My hair is naturally curly...like Julia Roberts curly, but not nearly as nice. My wedding is in April, so I am thinking if I am going to try anything new or different with my hair, I need to try it now so I have time to fix it if I don't like it.

Re: Keratin treatment?

  • I did the treatment, although I have wavy/frizzy hair (not curly). I like it cause it cuts down on my blowdrying/hair straightening. I always straighten my hair anyway, so it works for me. If you click on my hair you can see the posting I put on my local board. I paid $300 (my hairdresser charged $150/hour and it took 2 hours). I feel like it stays less frizzy even when it's humid out. I didn't love the process of not being able to wash it or even tuck it behind my ear for 3 days though!
  • I mean click on my name (not hair!).
  • I havent but a girl I work with did... and it cost her about 350 I think, and she has super long hair. She loved it. It lasted a long time too. her hair isn't too curly, more like wavy... but she would get it every three or four months if it wasn't so expensive.
