Makeup or no makeup?

I NEVER wear make up. I used to occasionally if i could be bothered on nights out so im not against makeup or anything. My FI doesnt like makeup and loves that i dont wear it. I once wore makeup in front of his family and they were all stunned and said how lovely i looked.

I probably do look better wearing makeup, and if i wore it on the day, it would probably be very minimal but should i shouldnt i?!

  • I wore make-up a bit heavier than normal on my wedding day (ok, so maybe not heavy, but I had fake eyelashes and wore liquid foundation when I normally only wear powder) primarily for pictures. Photographers can do wonders with lighting and photo shop, but having a base layer of make up on will even out your skin and some bronzer can highlight your cheekbones, etc. I wouldn't tell you do do it if it makes you feel uncomfortable, but if you felt pretty - go for it! Feeling beautiful on your wedding day will only make you that much more happy. =)

  • If anything, I'd do a foundation just so that your skin tone looks even in pictures. Even people will clear skin benefit from having some makeup on their face. Maybe some mascara or a thin line of eyeliner just so your eyes pop?

Maybe you could go to the makeup counter at a department store or to a Sephora and see what they suggest. They can do a trial run and you can see what you like. That would help you make your final decision, I'd think :)
  • Yes you should because it will photograph better.

  • Definitely yes, for the photos, and plus- unless your wedding is super small, consider how your features will look from 30 or more feet away, which is how people sitting in the back rows will see you. Doesn't have to be heavy, but a little eye makeup to make your eyes pop and foundation for even skin for the pics will make a huge difference!! Went to a wedding not that long ago where the bride was, as far as I could tell in person, wearing a little powder and lip gloss and though she is quite pretty, she looked washed out in a lot of her pics, to me.

  • I would highly recommend it for photos, like everyone else said. I would find pics of make-up that you like, maybe something more minimal and natural if you want, and bring those to your make-up trial (assuming you're getting it done, which I would probably recommend if you never normally experiment with make-up). Just emphasize that you don't want to wear a ton and want a more natural look, but just want it to photograph well while still looking like yourself. I think you'll be happy you did it in the long run when you get the pics back. Not that you wouldn't be beautiful without it; it just photographs better and you won't look washed out.
