What is the best makeup to hide fine lines

Getting married in 53 days, and doing my own makeup since we are getting married on a ship and I can't bring someone in to do it. I have a few fine lines thanks to my Irish skin and I was wondering what makeup would be best to hide them all day. I don't want to start out looking great but then by the end of the long day look like I have aged 10 years.... any ideas??

  • I would recommend using some serums starting beforehand - Lancome has a pricey one that is reported to be amazing, but Garnier and L'Oreal make great, less-expensive versions of the same thing.
On the day of, I recommend some primer, powder, and bb cream.  If you layer properly, it won't look too heavy but will last all day. (Oh, and there is no such thing as CC cream, so don't fret over which one you should be buying.  The CC cream being advertised is exactly the same product as that company's BB cream.)

  • Thanks! I will have to try that! I am trying everything now... so that I don't have to scramble next month. Have you heard anything good about Estee Lauders Double Wear? I saw a youtube how to , and she swore by it....

  • Not familiar with it - I'm a bit brand loyal - but I'm sure one of the women's mags has compared it against the other brands.  A quick google search should find you some comparisons.

If you are looking to get rid of fine lines and wrinkles instantly, I've used the Mary Kay Targeted Action Line Reducer, and it really works! I tried it on the corner of one of those deep "hand wrinkles" on my palm, and it made it disappear. It's $40, but it works instantly. The line reduce comes in a 13 fl. oz. pen and you apply it directly to any wrinkle you would like to eliminate. Also, like Lobsters25 mentioned, start using some sort of collegen serum and I would say a good skin regimine. You really want to start getting our skin ready months in advance of your wedding day. On the day of your wedding, be sure to use a foundation primer (let it set for a few minutes), apply a liquid foundation, then apply a light powder to set the foundation. If you are concerned about "shadows" or "dark circles" use a highighting pen in those areas to make them look brighter and lifted.
  • Thank you for all of your advice!!!! I just kind of gave up and booked one of the makeup artists from my fair wedding :).... I don't trust myself!!
