Help!
My hair has been a dyed darkish auburn for many months. In May, I went to a hair salon with the intention of having it lightened a shade or two for the summer. I have very pale skin and freckles, and I feel like my hair is too dark for my complexion!
So when I sat in the stylist's chair and told her what I wanted, she didn't seem to want to go through the process of lightening it, so instead suggested that we lay a lighter permanent hair color base over in the hopes that it would fade after a month or so to a color we could work with. Apparently the actually lightening process includes bleach that is damaging and could take too long.
Anyway, my hair is so thick, curly, dry, and porous that it completely SUCKED up the hair dye and I swear it's darker than it was before. I want to try true color correction to lighten it but I'm afraid of the damage! My wedding is August 27 and I want my hair to be long, look healthy, soft, and shiny. What should I do?

I don't like the current dark color at all! I wish they would've just lightened it the way I wanted the first time. Ugh.
