So i went for my trial hair and makeup this past weekend and wasn't too happy with my makeup... i gave them a picture of a nice smokey eye and the lady made it look so blue that i couldn't even tell until i got home because the lighting was so bad at the salon. So now i have no idea what eye makeup to wear. I want to do fake lashes, what brand would you recommend?

I've had good experience with cheap-o drugstore lashes, frankly.  If you want to go a little nicer, Makeup Forever or Mattese.  Make sure to get Duo brand glue.

BUT (and I mean this) you need to practice, practice, practice if you're going to do your own lashes on your wedding day.  It is not easy, and you will likely ruin several pair before you get it right.  Give it several trial runs, experimenting with lengths, etc., until you feel comfortable.  It probably took me about 10 tries before I felt like I could do it, and now I'm practically a pro!

Have you decided to do your own make-up now? My first make-up trial, I hated the make-up. So I went back for a second and told her exactly what colors I wanted her to use. After all, YOU are paying HER, so you should get a say in what goes on your face. If you don't feel like this person will be good, I'd look for another. I wouldn't write off getting your make-up done because of her. That way you don't have to worry about doing the fake lashes yourself.
