Airbrush/Spray Tan

I am getting married in Seagrove Beach, FL (near Destin and Panama City) this June. I am wanting to get an airbrush or spray tan a couple days before the wedding. Does anyone in that area have any reccomendations? Thanks!

Re: Airbrush/Spray Tan

  • you should post this on a local Florida board, you'll be more  likely to get some good feedback.  The local boards can be found on the left.  I live in Seattle, so I'm not going to be much help.  :)

When trying out a new airbrush/spray tan for the first time, I STRONGLY recommend you do a trial. Some can turn you orange or streaky and I'm certain you do not wish to look like a splotchy oompa loompa on your wedding day. lol just a suggestion.

  • I agree with PP.  I had a trial done and I thought it looked ok so I went back to go again for my shower and it looked terrible.  My legs were all splotchy and it was really uneven.  I won't be going back for the wedding!  I am learning to embrace my paleness :)
  • Definitely do a trial. For some people, the color doesn't take to their skin well, and ends up streaky or orange.
-Exfoliate well the morning of, and put NO lotion on your body.
-Most places should offer you an exfoliating wipe when you arrive for your face to remove any makeup.
-be sure to use the barrier cream they provde on your palms and nails/cuticles, both feet and hands.
-dont forget a hair tie, and put the cap back into your hairline, not on your forhead or on top of your ears.
-when you exit, blot with the towel provided.
-I would suggest buying a rub on for touch ups on hands and feet. Banana boat makes a decent one.

Your tan will take approx 36 hours to fully develop, if you can do not shower for at least 10 hours after wards. So if you want to be tan on Friday, go late on Wednesday.
I do not work for a tanning salon, I am just well versed bc I only spray tan! Good luck!

I'm with you on that! FI fell in love with snow white, not an oompa loompa lol!

  • I highly recommend it.  If you are fair just have them do the lightest color on you, I would do a couple of trials so you can get used to maintaining it.  My friend owns a spray tan business and she has me use the vaseline cocoa butter lotion twice a day after she has tanned me and that helps maintain it.  It doesn't have anything in it that will break down the tan.
