Just wanted to share my first Shellac experience. I got it hoping that it would keep my nails from breaking before the wedding. It's supposed to last 2 weeks without chipping. By day 7 I had a large chip on one finger, and the next day a couple of them peeled right off in once piece, starting at the tip. I peeled the rest off myself, with minimal damage to my nails.
I'm still getting another manicure for the wedding because it did last for 1 week unblemished, and it looked great for that week, but I definitely would not pay the $50 each time to do it on a regular basis. My nails also did not break while they were polished, but two broke off very short right after the shellac was removed.

[QUOTE]I guess I got lucky with mine as well. Mine usually last about 2.5 weeks. My aveda salon charges almost $50, called around and found a place for $30 (non aveda). There are like 3 different big brands I guess. The one by OPI personally I found to sort of ruin your nails underneath sort of like acrylics. Gellish (sp?) for me has been the best...annd I can't remember the other one but it was better than the OPI stuff. Hope this helps :)
