What's everyone up to today?

Headed to work for a few hours this morning.  Coming home to answer FI's phone call and then out shopping for a few last-minute items before heading to Padre since I know I'll have to work REALLY late tomorrow to make sure everything is done.

Spending time in FIL's, FI, and MOB, going to the TCU-UNLV baseball game and going to work.

FINALLY heard back from the photographer that she received our first half of the deposit (check still hadn't gone through) so that's a whole lot less stress! Soon as my tax return comes in, our whole photography deposit will be done!

I just finished leg training. I'm so sore my FI is digging the holes for the bushes that need to be planted today. Need to go back to Home Depot and get mulch. I think the rest of the day I'm going to chill. FI leaving for Chicago this afternoon and my daughter will be gone so a quiet afternoon for me.

Headed to mass in about an hour and a half, then grading all afternoon, probably.

It's my dog's birthday, so I think a trip to the park is in order.

Sorry you have to work all day Carrie. 

We had an AMAZING shower yesterday. We had a few friends call and cancel last minute, so on the way FI and I got pretty bummed, but once we got there, I was completely blown away! Everything was perfect and we had a lot of family show (even some family I didn't think was going to come). Here are a few pics (I am aw-ing this because I am absolutely beaming)

On a sad note, FI is taking McFly out to the White Rock Lake all afternoon to run and then finish off with a dip at the dog park. I could NOT be more jealous right now.

Thanks so much ladies! FI actually surprised me with the dress (I had pinned it.. it was from some website called Tobi). The shower was held at the house of the family that I tutor. The mother was so kind in throwing it for me. They had a family friend cater (and she set up the decor too!). I wish my actual wedding decor was that nice, lol. 

I bet McFly will be one happy, but tired, puppy tonight. Hope work doesn't keep you too much longer!

Amanda -- your shower pics are great!  I also love your dress - very cute.

Carrie -- I LOVE going to White Rock.  I rarely make it out there, but its so peaceful.  When we get a dog, we'll definitely be spending time at the dog park!

Amanda -- the picture of you pup you posted on Facebook is so cute!

Hi ladies! DH and I had a great weekend in Austin. He has been out of town and flew in to meet us and we both flew out of Austin today. He's heading back out to work, and I'm headed to NC for work. We all rente the most fantastic house ever and went to see Randy Rogers, concert and weather were great. Hope you guys had a great time at the gtg! Amanda, your shower looked awesome! Kathleen, hope you had an awesome bacehlorette party! Amy, hope all goes well for you and FI in SPI! Thinking of you. Hope everyone has a great rest of your Sunday!

Well I managed to get another big check done today. I now officially have my photographer booked. I knew who I wanted to go with and was just waiting to get the venue booked.
 My photographer is Cindy And Saylor Photography a wife and husband duo. I love Cindy she took my oldest daughter's senior portraits a couple years ago. She will also be doing my youngest daughter's senior pics next month.
Man! I'm getting old, my babies are grown up.

I just finished yet another tour of the animal shelters near my house ... I even had H with me this time ... and we're empty-handed yet again!

None of the dogs we liked would engage with us at all. They're either aggressive, or not socialized, or still so new to the shelter they're shaking in the back of the cage Poor pups!

Marie - You are SO doing the right thing by taking your time and feeling it out. It SUCKS at the time, but it will be worth it. I'm so proud of you for getitng a shelter dog!!!

Haha, Carrie, I'm about to take my pups out to the WRL park.  Our shepherd likes to wade out into the lake, but doesn't really like having anything but solid ground under her, so she stays pretty close to the shore.  Occasionally she wanders too far and falls in and we all laugh at her.  Over Spring Break, she took a flying leap into my parents' pond, apparently not realizing it was water.  When she came up, she had this look of absolute terror and shock on her face.  I was really glad she could swim, because I was laughing so hard I would have been unable to recognize her.

Finally done running errands.  Note to self - never go to Target to the Target that's the closest to my house.  I forgot how nasty it is.  

Talked to FI briefly.  I discovered something last week that is going to be really difficult to move past, and this is the first time we've talked since then.  He is only allowed a 10-minute phone call, so there really wasn't a way to approach it in that timeframe.  Instead, we got to do the awkward small-talk  He's otherwise doing well it sounds like, which is good to hear.  He said he has received two short letters from his dad but sadly, his mom has not written anything nor signed either letter.  Now I just feel blah.  This next week is going to be so.heavy.

I'm going to need another GTG in a few weeks! :P

And now, after all the doggy pics and doggy talk, I definitely need a pup in my life sometime soon.  MarieSD, keep looking -- you will find the right dog!  You and H are wise to take your time and find a dog that is a great fit for you two.
