Mailing a tip?

I had my hair and makeup trial today, but things were so crazy beforehand (FI's car broke down on the way to our cake tasting earlier, it had to be towed, leaving us stranded 150 miles from home, mechanic can't look at it till Monday...) I didn't have any cash on me to tip her! She was super nice, came in when the salon was closed, did a great job so I feel terrible. I'm mailing her our contract next week, should I include a tip on there with just a little thanks note so she knows what it's for? She doesn't charge for trials, my day of is only $100, and there was no deposit. If I do mail her a tip, how much? Or should I just tip extra good on my wedding day?

Never mail cash! I would give her a fat tip on the wedding day. I did a fat tip at the trial because they already put 18% in for the day of...

OMG I did the same exact thing by accident and was just coming on here to ask what to do! I feel so bad I forgot about the tip, was just so excited I left without tipping.

I would drop it off at the salon or give her a big tip on your wedding day.

We're getting married two hours away from where we live so we couldn't just drop it off. Are you saying don't mail cash because it isn't safe or because it's tacky?

It's unsafe to mail cash - it could get lost in the mail or someone could open it and steal the cash.  If you want to tip her now, just mail her a check.
