Getting Dressed

Do you think that 20 minutes is enough time to get into my dress and have the photographer get good shots in?

Re: Getting Dressed

  • Depends on your dress and undergarments?

It'll take me approximately one minute because i don't have to wear a petticoat or slip or anything special underneath and my dress is small enough to put on myself.
  • Assuming I am already wearing my bra and slip, my dress probably takes 10 minutes to put on.  It is a corset-back (so it takes forever to lace up) and it is a fit and flair with lots of layers that need to be straightened.  Because of the slip, it has to go on over the head, so all the layers bunch up in the bodice and have to be individually pulled down.

I would describe your dress to your photographer, and ask how long they recommend.

Having already been married, I would allow 20-30 minutes to dress, put on your jewelry, accessories, shoes and headpiece.  20 minutes would be on the short end, 30 is padding the time a little.
