Beach ceremony, semi-formal reception in a nice hall - make-up?

I am getting married in June on the beach... ceremony starts at 6-6:30 PM, and the reception will begin at 7 and go on till midnight.

I like the look of understated eyes and red lips... with hair reminiscent of Old Hollywood. We are not having a beach-themed wedding.

Would it be inappropriate to wear the make-up as I want it? Do I really have to do the "easy, breezy, beautiful" beach make-up?

I say go FOR IT! I am getting married on the beach a half hour earlier than you. I'm channeling Mila Kunis -- dramatic eyes all the way. 

Your wedding is reflective of your personalities, so your makeup should be too. Make yourself happy and do what makes you feel good! ENjoy!
