tattoo cover up

I have a black tattoo on my foot that im not so worried about since my dress will be covering but for the rehersal im planning on wearing a short white dress, but I also have a few on my upper back and my dress is strapless. Ive been looking at many products. ive looked at dermablend at ulta and the lady told me it will take forever to cover up with it and will need to apply multiple layers. Ive went to sephora and took a look at the kat von d and it was nice but I asked the girl there and she recommend coverFX which i thought was better, but just worried that it will run if sweating since my wedding is in august or may not work as well. dont wanna spend that kind of money and bad results. any advice???

Honestly? It's more trouble than it's worth.  If you're just trying to get it covered for a rehersal dinner, why even bother? Nothing will stay on with sweat and hugs all day long.

I know Davids Bridal has a kit that I saw. Other than that I'm not that familiar with tattoo coverup....
  • I've read the reviews on the one davids bridal sells and not so good..I'm not just doing it for the rehersal.I wanted it more for the actual day
  • I have the same problem... I've got three little tattoo and my boyfriend hates them... I would like to cover the one on my arm, but... I'm not really sure... maybe the foundation cream (even if is a no transfer one) could stain my white dress...
  • Kat Von D has a tatoo coverup kit and from the reviews it works well.

  • Not judging but why get tattoos if you want to cover them up for important events? They are permanant for a reason. IMO your tattoos are a part of who you are, you shouldn't be ashamed of them. I don't know if you ever saw the episode of LA Ink where Kat Von D got photographed without her tattoos, they covered her up and airbrushed them all away. She was gorgeous, but in the end she wasn't "Kat Von D" ya know?

  • Are you using a pro makeup artist? I have heard the best way to cover tattoos is to have your MUA airbrush them. That is what I plan to do. My MUA offers tattoo coverage starting at $25 each and going up based on size and color. I will probably end up paying close to $100 to cover all of mine but that's what you'd pay for one of the cover-up kits anyway and doing it this way, I feel like I have something of a guarantee that they will be covered and the coverup job will look natural and flawless. I also plan to have her cover my tattoos during my trial just to be sure that I get the results I'm hoping for on the day of.

  • Yes I know they are a part of who you are and it was my choice to get them. but I want them covered for my wedding because it is a very special day and My wedding is in a church and I dont believe that it is very appropriate to show them in a church setting.
  • Ok, you are right... what about asking to the Priest?
Maybe it's better? I'm not afraid to show my tattoos, but my husband... he hates them!
  • I'm getting mine covered by a woman that specializes in tattoo cover ups for weddings http://www.cover-my-tattoo.com I'm from New York but getting married in Chicago this summer. The tech is cool. She says she travels all over the US because so many people want their tatts covered for their wedding.
    Soon to be Mrs. Cross!
