Hair question

Hi Ladies,
I already booked a hair person for myself.  However, I'm thinking about booking another hair person for the wedding party (MOH, bridesmaid, mother and mother-in-law).  The main reason is because of cost.  Both my mom and future mother-in-law have super short hair and they don't need an updo.  As for my bridesmaids, I would like them to wear their hair down since they have gorgeous curly hair.  So all they would require is styling.  If I have the same lady that does my hair do their hair, it would cost $65 for each person, regardless of it's an updo or just styling.  However, if I have this other lady (that I found through reading your posts) do their hair styling, it would cost us $25 for each person.  I think that's worth the saving but my FI disagrees.  He thinks it would create more problems and it would look tacky.  I would like to know what you ladies think?  Should I just suck it up and pay one person to do all our hair?

I think you should let your BMs make the decision and let them wear their hair the way they are most comfortable. But that's JMO.

The other thing to think about is the time factor--you need to allow 30 minutes for each person (even if just styling).  So think about whether 1 stylist will be able to easily do everyone.  Personally, I would go with the second cheaper stylist for the BMs and let the other one focus on just you.

If you give your BMs the option of having their hair done professionally or not, you don't have to pay for it.  You could just say, "if you want your hair professionally styled, it will be $25."  However, paying for it is a nice gesture while still giving them the option of how they will look.
  • I agree with Stephie.  Especially if you have long/thick hair and/or are having an elaborate updo for yourself, your hairstylist might be working on your hair for quite a while, and it might be beneficial to have a second stylist on board for the BM's.  If they want it.

Unless your stylist would get offended by you having another one there, I don't see a problem with it.

Or, as Stephie pointed out, if you looking to save money you could just ask the girls if they'd like their hair done professionally, and then the ball is in their court.

I am having my hair done professionally, because I suck at updos, but I told my BM's that they could use my stylist if they want, or do their own hair, but it's up to them to pay for it if they want it done professionally.  :)
