makeup artist question

how does it usually work with make up artists? do you bring your own makeup or use the stuff they have?  if you use the stuff they have how do you do touch ups later at the reception?

Re: makeup artist question

  • You use the stuff they have and should not have to touch it up afterwards.
  • My MUA provided me with lipstick touch up.  I also paid to have mine stay one extra hour through the pre-ceremony photographs and she touched me up right before the ceremony.  All I did after that was powder my nose once after dinner with just my regular powder.
  • A good artist should be able to apply her own makeup and use things that you provide.  Having said that, if you don't have any allergies use the professional makeup the artist provides.  It stays in place longer and will look fresh all night.

My mom has sensitive skin so my makeup artist is going to apply my mom's makeup on her, and use the professional products on everyone else.  Just make sure you find someone who is flexible if you have allergies (or your mom/bridesmaids have allergies.
