Eyelash extensions

My FI has a friend whose gf is a professional nail technician and does eyelash extensions.  As a gift she had offered to do manicures & pedicures for my bridesmaids, both mothers, and I.  And for me, she also offered to wax/shape my eyebrows and place on eyelash extensions.

Have anyone ever had eyelash extensions done before?  About how long does it take?  Any pain?  How long do they last?  Do they come off on thier own, or do you take it off?

TIA

Re: Eyelash extensions

  • So funny, I was just coming on here to see if anyone had the answers to the same questions ... they sound really neat but are kind of expensive. Wondering if they are worth it?

  • I have never had extensions, but I did false eyelashes a few years back (applied by a professinoal) and I loved them. I plan to do them for the wedding, too.
  • I attended my close friend wedding, she used a different eyelash. They are attached to the base of your own eyelashes, but they are little individual eyelashes that the chick glued on individually.

My makeup artist does them 90.00 for silk and 120.00 for mink. She said they last the same amount of time the difference is in the feel on your eye. I will likely just pay the 10.00 she charges to do regular false lashes.

  • I had them done a while back. No pain during application or after. it took about a half hour -45 min... it's kind of bizarre just laying there with your eyes taped shut but its fine after a few minutes. They look really really va voom when you first get them done and it feels like you've gone overboard but they really are pretty awesome! My lashes lasted about 3 weeks and they fell out on their own. Once they start falling out if you dont go for touch up's your eyelashes look a bit wonky.. like they have spaces in between where the real ones are and where the extensions are. Would i do it again? ehhh probably not. It's expensive to keep up with. I like the individual glue on lashes. You get the same look for less money.
