Eyelash Extensions Elaborated

I know there is a post right underneath this about extensions but my question was more, has any one tried them?  Do they cause significant lash loss when they fall out?
I have been looking for natural growth formulas and stumbled across emu oil which I have been using for a month now with no real growth.  I also heard that castor oil can be effective but there were too many warnings against it for me to try it.
If any one had any other good products they'd like to share I'd love to hear it,
Thanks ladies

Re: Eyelash Extensions Elaborated

  • I used to get eyelash extensions for quite a while, they looked great and didn't cause as much damage as I thought when they came off. My only cons would be that they are a little pricey to upkeep and if you want them to look natural and keep them up then you'll probably need to touch up once every 2-3 weeks. It is a little awkward looking when you decide you don't want them anymore because there are very few long eyelashes amongst your natural ones. Hope this helps!
  • I was super afraid to get eye lash extensions but have always wanted them.  I was initally scared because of morifying stories of them falling out and looking funky.  I finally got the courage to try them on and now I can't stop getting them.  My frist time getting them, they lasted 11 weeks!  My lashes did not get damaged and only fell out when my lashes naturally shedded.  I paid $150 for mind but I felt it was worth it. Now I usually wait around 3 or 4 weeks to get them filled ($39 for fills).  I love that you cannot see the bands that strip fake lashes give you.  Eye lash extensions are ideal for photography.  They were less maintaince then I thought too.  I orginally though you had to be very careful with them but that is not the case with mine.  However, I did go to a professional eyelash extension place salon that only did that.  You can also ask for natural or dramatic.  The people working can costumize to how you want them to be.  You can even ask for it flared out at the ends.

As for your natural lashes, I have use latisse.  It's a product that you apply to your natural lash line.  The product is suppose to help your lashes grow fuller and longer.  So far they have seem to thicken but I dont feel like there are more hair.  I think it was a waste of money.  Emu oil is oil.  Just like what it woudl do to hair (make it shiny), it will do that to your lashes.  But nothing crazy.

Thanks guys, I think I'll take the plunge.  It's just one time anyways.
  • I got them for my wedding and honeymoon & they are definetely worth it. I wish I could ahve kept them up but it would be too much. For a special occasion I say go for it. The first time I had them done they lasted about 6-7  before they started looking funky. I just trimmed them back though. I didn't see more lash loss than normal. I think its just a little more noticable when they do fall out before they're so much longer.
  • Thanks for this info! I was going to post about this later so this was really helpful :)

  • Here is a picture of my latest lashes.  I asked for dramatic and you can see that they are quite full.  I like them like that but you can ask for a more natural look.
