Breaking out help!

I have been traveling between really dry dessert climates, and humid hot climates. My skin has been breaking out so bad and I don't know what to do! Not only my face but recently I have been getting red bumps on my chest, shoulders, and back. I have NEVER had breakouts in these areas before, and bought a backless dress because I've always especially loved my back (haha weird I know). I'm so worried about my wedding. What are some face wash and moisturizer recommendations you all have?

Re: Breaking out help!

  • I'd visit the dermatologist.  An oral antibiotic might be able to clear that right up.

If you're older than early twenties, acne fighting face washes might do more harm than good- they're designed for teenage breakouts, not adult acne.  When I had acne, it was caused by dry skin and the acne fighting over the counter stuff made matters worse.
  • As someone who works at a dermotologist office, I second the PP. Visit a Derm Dr.

Also as a patient myself, I had put off going and by the time I did my acne was terrible. I had never had what I would consider "bad" acne until recently. Just a little breakout here or there during my "lady week" lol, but not this time. I looked like I was going through puberty all over again...which basically I was since it was caused from hormonal changes...But I went and she precribed Epiduo gel and Minocycline...works like magic...I'm now acne free :)

So I would make that appt ASAP.

  • So I don't have insurance at the moment so going to a derm was not an option. I just bought something that saved my life, it's called the clarasonic mia. I bought the origional and not the #2 because there's really no need for the extra money. It's around $100. I also bought this cleanser to go with it Murad Acne cleanser. I have always had a problem with acne and had pro-active forever. This was 100% better the next day....I'm on day 12 and have 1 pimple on my face and my acne scars are almost gone. I'm sure this sounds like a cheesy ad, but I wish I had a before picture to show the difference.

  • I second getting a Clarisonic!  It's really worth the money, I promise!  However, a visit to the dermatologist is always your best bet.
