Styling Extremely Long Hair

Hi everyone!
I can't figure out how to style my hair for the big day.  My hair is very long (it falls to the back of my knees).  I just haven't seen any hair styles for hair this length other than buns or just leaving it loose.  I do not want to style my hair so simply. I could make a braided crown but I do not really want to do that either. Does anyone have suggestions for hair this length, pictures, or both?

My suggestions is not helpful. It's a haircut to waist length hair.

    Agreed.

I've never understood why someone would grow their hair that long.  It kind of grosses me out.

I'd go up to mid-back, honestly.

Well yes, but I didn't want to scare her by saying mid-back. ;)

Yeah, I definitely don't want to cut it. I love having it long and so does my fiance so that's just something I don't want to do.  I've asked a few hairstylists but they just want to curl all of it. I'll probably just do something myself because nobody even seems to know how to handle it. I had to do mine and my sitser's hair for my brother's wedding and it was fine. I just made a braided crown around our heads, it was really beautiful but I wanted something different for my own wedding.

Well anyway, thanks for the suggestions ladies, even if most of them were to cut my hair :(

Another thought -- I took a glance around google and hit
    http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=11326

which has two Colorado salons listed as good for haircuts for longhaired folks.  No idea if either is near you, does much special-event styling, or is even still open since that post is from 2008, but if either are nearby, give them a call?
