Shots to stop sweating?

I sweat when I am nervous. So I imagine on the wedding day I'll be clammy. Any thoughts on pills or shots I can take to avoid any excessive sweating?

Re: Shots to stop sweating?

  • Have you discussed this with a doctor?

My sister gets Botox shots under her arms for a gland problem. It stops the excess sweating.

  • Yeah, Botox is used for this. I'd talk to your Doctor first to see what your options are.
  • I had a bad sweat problem but once I started using secret clinical strength,I have been fine ever since. I used to sweat so bad, on my way to the bar I'd have to "dry" under my arms with the heat or air in the car! I've even used the hand dryer in bathrooms.

  • I've heard that using an astringent like Witch Hazel helps.. just dab it on your problem spots (or all over your face!) before putting the makeup on.

  • I sweat a lot too. So far I like Dove Clinical strength best, and it's not too pricey at walmart. I'm usuing Secret right now. Its more expensive, and I think slightly less effective.

  • I'd talk to your doctor about this before resorting to botox shots. Just because the idea of botox just freaks me out to no end.

  • I haven't spoken to my doctor as this is not a daily thing. I use clinical strength Degree and that works just fine. But the day of the wedding I know I will be a bundle of nerves. Too much attention on me! haha I don't want any gross looking pictures.
  • I have problems with sweating, starting in middle school!  The one that works for me is CertainDri (about $5 at Wal-Greens).  It makes a huge difference for me, but it takes a couple of days.  I have started to use it so when my wedding comes, I won't be a sweaty mess.  Good luck, hope you find something less invasive than Botox that works!
