Wedding Cake

Hey ladies,

I hope everyone is having an awesome Thursday! I am trying to figure out where to get my cake. I am doing a faux cake that is decorated only and then serving sheet cake. Is anyone else doing this? Does anyone have any suggestions for a baker?

Thanks!

Sasha

Have you priced that out?  We did a faux tier and it was still about $60-- that's like 20 or 30 slices of cake!  We used Elena's Cakes on Greenville, I really liked her.  I'd ask for both prices for a faux cake/sheet cakes and a regular wedding cake.  You may be surprised at how it doesn't save that much.

Ditto PP, shop around. Some Knotties, myself included, used Cake Guys since they have their Sweet Inspirations packages which were very cost friendly.

I'm not so good with the advice... Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

Also remember that the faux cake still has to be decorated which is a factor in the cost.  I used the Cake Guys and 2 of my tiers were fake because of the rhinestones.

I will eternally reccommend The Cake Guys. I frequently dream of the key lime filled cake that I never had a piece of at my reception. Thankfully, Wendi is supplying this at her wedding! This fat kid can't wait.
Their pricing is very affordable, and I strongly suggest shopping around. Faux decorated cakes get pricy.

I still enthusiastically recommend The Cake Guys also even though they suddenly became unavailable for our wedding date (boo, CG, boo!).  Their cake is the best I have tasted in DFW (and we've tasted a LOT) and their prices were absolutely the best ($495 included delivery and a beautiful bride's cake that fed 115 and groom's cake that fed 75 I think).

The Flour Shop in Highland Village :) DELICIOUS

We didn't have any fake tiers, but she was very affordable.
