Decent wedding day eye liner??

When it comes to make up I don't wear alot, i mainly emphasize my eyes, but my concern is I have yet to find a decent eye liner that stays for a long period of time.
Was wondering if any of you have a brand you suggest or anything along those lines.

TIA

  • liquid? gel? Cream? Pencil?
  • You can get any liner, no matter how cheap to stay in place with a good primer.

I recommend Urban Decay or Two Faced's eye shadow primers.  They're the bomb-diggedy.
  • I've always used Mary Kay and loved it, I never ventured out to buy other brands.

  • Thanks ladies!! I have tried the liquid and i could never get the hang of it, i do have a mary kay rep, may just need to talk to her!! :) Thanks for all of the input!!

I respectfully disagree.  I use Urban Decay Primer Potion.  I have hooded eyes.  I've used some liners and have had them smear a lot, even with the primer.  <div>
</div><div>I mostly use pencil or wet an eyeliner brush and use eyeshadow as a liner.  I've found that Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes pencil works best for me.  I also like Maybelline Unstoppable (I have it in brown).  </div><div>
</div><div>On my wedding day, I used Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream liner.  It didn't budge at all.  I don't know why, but it's never available in black online anymore.  </div><div>
</div><div>If you want a felt tip pen, Stila Stay All Day is really good.  The only problem I had was that the tip eventually got soft and made the pen hard to control.  </div><div>
</div><div>Personally, I like the look of creams and pencils much better than liquid or gel liners.  </div>
  • I love gel liners. I have cried in them, gone swimming, etc. and good ones do not budge (unless of course you're rubbing your eyes)!

My 2 favorites are Inglot's gel liner and M.A.C's Fluidline. Both awesome choices to apply with a small angeled brush!
  • I've tried the liquids and could never get a nice enough line, it was always chunky or WAY too big. I really like the pencils haven't tried the creams or the gel....may have to experiment :)

  • Lancome has amazing eye pencils (and mascaras, for that matter). Go there, tell them your dilemma, come out with a custom solution!

  • I used cheap cover girl cream pencil and NYX felt tip pen for my wedding and they worked nicely. The trick is to brush dark shadow over the top of the line to set it.

  • Nothing has ever worked for me - I've literally tried all of those tips above. I have combination/oily skin so it always ends up smearing/creasing (especially lower lash line).

The one and only pencil I now use for special occasions for all day stay is Chanel STYLO YEUX WATERPROOF Eyeliner (I use black)...

It's damn expensive for eyeliner but again, it stays on through dancing, crying, sweating, etc. I still do check to re-apply and never have to but sometimes I do just to get extra staying power if I know I'll be dancing/sweating. I will def have this on hand for my makeup artist to use on my wedding day! :)
  • Maybelline makes a waterproof gel eyeliner. The brush takes some figuring out but it works and looks great once you get the brush and technique down For a pencil I will use Revlon Colotstay. I am worried about crying and both of these work great on me. Line your eyes first then apply the eyeshadow.
