A Few Questions for Piazza Brides

This is my first time posting on this board, so sorry if I'm asking about something that already been answered!  I looked a few pages back and didn't see anything about the Colleyville area.  I'm getting married at the Piazza in the Village on 11/3/12 and had a couple of things I've been wondering about.

First, the rehearsal dinner.  I've been to Ruggeri's a few times, but I'm thinking that would end up being a little too expensive.  We will probably have 15-20 people at the rehearsal dinner.  Any ideas for rehearsal dinner locations in the area?

And my other question is about the Elixir Salon that's across from the Piazza.  I had looked for makeup artists online, but the prices just seem way too much for only 4 girls.  Elixir seems super convenient, and the pricing is much more reasonable than others that I've looked into.  Have any of y'all been there?

Thanks so much!

  • There's a Bellisimo's right down the street and the food there is pretty good and it's not very expensive.  Rio Mambo's is delicious, too!  You could also consider Via Napoli's on Main St. in Grapevine--they have an extra party room.  Also, there are two Cafe Italia's in Grapevine and they're delicious too.

There are several make up artists who travel and who girls here have had great success with.  Hopefully, they will come on and share their experiences.

I've not been to a wedding at the Piazza but I've been to some banquets there and it's really pretty.  They opened up just before we got married.  If there had been more information out there (and if they had been easier to get in touch with), we would have considered using them (they weren't officially open when we started our planning process).

  • I got married in Grapevine and we had our RD at Main Street Bread Baking company on Main Street in Grapevine, and it was fantastic! They're closed at night, wisp we had the place to ourself. Farina's on Main Street is another great option, they have a few private rooms. And like Julie said, you can never go wrong with Cafe Italia, and it's BYOB, so that would help with the price. I've never eaten at Ruggeri's, so don't have anything to add there. I stayed at the NYLO in Las Colinas on Friday night, all the girls got ready there and DH and I stayed there the night of our wedding. Guys got ready at our house since we lived locally. I would also suggest the Hilton at Southlake Town Square, they have some nice suite options!
  • I went and looked through the old reviews but I didn't find a ton that was helpful.  One bride used the Gaylord, one used the Holiday Express Inn, one used the Grand Hyatt DFW, one used Hyatt Place in Hurst.  Couldn't find anything on Elixir and the only RD I found was Le Peep.

I have her reviews but she didn't include her RD.
  • I am getting married at the Piazza this August and have booked the Elixir Salon for hair and makeup.  I am having a trial run later this month, so I will be sure to post again about my experience.  But the people there all seem very nice and the prices were a lot better then others that I found also.
