Laser hair removal????

Has anyone done this?? Is it worth it??? Is it painful??? I'm considering getting it for my under arms!!!!!

Re: Laser hair removal????

  • I love it and it's worked great for me (light skin with dark hair). I look for a deal on it, so I usually don't pay full price. It's only painful for a second - like a rubberband snapping on your skin. IMO, less painful than waxing and my skin doesn't react as severely as it does to waxing. I haven't had any lasting redness, bumps, ingrowns, etc. I've done my underarms, upper lip, and bikini.

<div>Is it actually permanent or does the hair grow back?</div>

  • It's not permanent, really. I think if you did it consistently for a year, you might just need to go back for touch ups once or twice a year, but I can't speak from experience there. My hair growth was significantly reduced, though, and even though my last treatment was months ago (late summer/early fall, I think) I can tell a difference where I had it done on my bikini and underarms. There is just less hair in the areas that were lasered. When you first have the treatment, it takes several days for the hair to fall out, but then you're hair-free for several weeks.
  • HI there, I was already to get it done and then I deicded that I couldn't invest that kind of money in the procedure. Instead I bought an epilator (try ulta.com or sally beauty).
I got mine on Ulta's website for approximately $70.00 because they had a coupon and I couldn't be more impressed. It was  painful when I did my legs, but my undearms didn't bother me at all. I would defiently start early and see if after a few times if your underarms continue to get red bumps, mine went away overnight. I have always been a person who can shave in the morning and is self concious that I should shave again before going out at night, but really it was just the color of the root of my hair. With the epilator it pulls it out and I am doing it now every other week. I'm seeing great results.

  • Getting laser done on my underarms/brazilian/legs.  Worst part is brazilian by far, but it's not as painful as waxing.  Have noticed a reduction drastically in the underarms (4 treatments), bikini area (4 treatments) is very patchy now, and leg hair (3 treatments) is growing in much slower than it used to.  I'm pleased!
