Making Makeup look good in pictures

Hi ladies!

I'm getting engagement pics done next week and looking for some makeup advice.  I don't really have the budget for professional anything (I'll probably spring for it for the wedding since I'm not a habitual makeup wearer).

I just want to know how to make myself look nice in the photos without looking too 'made up'.  Are there certain products to use or to avoid?

I don't usually wear anything more than concealer, powder and lipstick, adding eyeshadow, blush and mascara for fancier times.

I've been told the following:

- Wear a bit more makeup than you usually would.  (When I went for my makeup trial, my MUA put a lot more eye makeup than I normally wear and I was concerned about it.  I got home and had FI take a few photos of me.  In those photos, I look like I'm wearing my normal daily makeup.)

- Wear matte makeup.  Anything with shimmer may cause a glare.

For my engagement pics I went to Sephora and had a makeup artist do it. It doesn't "cost" anything, but you have to purchase a $50 gift card. Since I shop at Sephora anyways, this was basically a free service. I LOVED the way my makeup looked, and it was fun to try brands I never would have before. I would highly recommend it.

Hey,
I am a professional makeup artist in the Phoenix area and would love to give you some tips.

You want to make sure that you use blush, even if it's just lightly it will give your face some more dimension and will keep you from looking washed out in your photos.
For you eyes, I would use a nuetral color - it will make your eyes pop a bit more but can be applied lightly so you don't feel overdone.
If you don't normally wear eyeliner, I would stick with a brown liner and brown mascara. It will add a little more pizazz without looking too heavy or dark.

Avoid shimmers, go with lip color two shades darker or nude with lip liner. Use a brow liner one shade lighter than your haircolor. Definitely get your brows done, if you dont have defined cheekbones try contouring by using nars bronzer in casino. Suck in your cheeks and brush the bronzer in the hollows, apply a natural blush on your cheeks and blend everythig with a kabuki brush. You can find those in any rite aid or dr in the ecotools brushes section. Definitely use eyeliner and mascara. These tricks will highlight your natural beauty!
