There is a groupon goods deal right now for a curling wand.
http://www.groupon.com/ch/goods/deals/gg-reverse-2513-mm-wand-curling-ironI was thinking of buying it to try and see if I like the curl for my wedding hair (it is returnable). My only concern is that it only has one heat setting...410 degrees. I've read high heat can help hold a curl longer but I dont want to fry my hair either. Besides practicing for the wedding I doubt I'd be curling my hair all that often (maybe once a month).
My hair is straight naturally and not thick but not thin. Will a protective heat product be enough or should I look into something else? TIA
