Help Please!

So when I get nervous, I get this red blotchy rash all over my chest. It makes me look diseased lol. I have no idea if there is anything I can do to cover it up or if I'm pretty much just screwed. Because in wedding pictures that is going to look awful! Do any of you ladies get anything similar to this? If so, do you know of anything that can help it/cover it up?

  • I Get the same thing!  Mine mainly happens when i'm upset but it sucks because you look like you have hives and everyone is thinking what is wrong with you.  First of all make sure you are comfortable with your photographer they will but you at ease for the pictures.  If you do start to get blotchy just have a close friend that knows the situation have a really good concealer that she can apply on you  if it gets really bad.  Try to relax and enjoy yourself!
  • Have you spoken to a doctor about this issue? A stress rash can be treated. Like PP said, tell your photog. They have experience with every issue, from pimples to rashes to giant bruises. And make sure you find a great concealer and SET IT. If you don't set it, it will rub on you dress. That's no fun.

How do they treat a stress rash? I'm not taking a valium on my wedding day. I had to take one before and it calmed my nerves but it made me crazy.

Tell your doctor that. Maybe valium just isn't the right thing for you, and he/she can have you try something else.

Makeup will help, too, with a translucent powder and setting spray.

They can teach you stress management tactics, and give you milder sedatives. Is this a very debilitating stress issue? They may recommend a therapist. Sorry if that's too nosy.
  • It just happens when I get nervous. In November I was in a friends wedding. I was fine  until I started walking down the isle. Then a friend noticed them. They lingered even after the wedding, even though I wasn't nervous once it was over.  I remember getting them at my high school graduation.
The reason I had to take the valium was for dental issues. I thought I was going to have a panic attack....it helped with that but all I did was laugh at everything. So that is a for sure negative.
