Getting rid of tan lines.

Hello ladies!

I mostly lurk on TK, and this is my first time posting on this board.  I'm getting married in October and have some wicked awful tan lines that I am dying to fix before then.  I am a pale, pale lady, and thusly got some bad sunburn early in the summer, so it's really noticable.  Right now, my plan is to do it the old-fashioned way long-term until the wedding by regulating my sun exposure and evening naturally, but does anyone have any suggestions?  Is there anything that's worked really well for you?  Any self-tanning product recommendations?  Just wanted to explore my options.  I'm not looking to get darker before the wedding, just for some uniformity!

Thanks so much for your help!

Re: Getting rid of tan lines.

  • I have this problem too. I asked my dermatologist and the lady who does my eyebrows (and she does make-up too) about what I should do. They said that I should use an exfoliant 3 times a week and use a good moisturiser, like a body butter or Nivea after my showers. It will help to get rid of the top layers of skin and promote new skin which will have less and less tan. I've been doing it for 2 months now and the "Y" from the sports bra top I wore gardening before I was engaged is almost gone. Laughing
  • I am getting married August 18th (24 days away).  I had terrible tan lines from early summer burn in a swim suit. My gown is sprapless.  I have been exfoliating, miniaturizing and hitting the tanning bed.  The tan lines are reducing but I don't have much time.  My fiance is very pale and I don't want to look super tan in pics standing with him.  I plan to tan in the bed as much as possible for the next week then quit.  Hopefully my tan will fade.   I may have to resort to tan in a can to clear up the remaining lines. My makeup lady said that she will do her best to airbrush and blend.  Good luck ladies... another fun thing to stress about. :) Congrats to all the new brides out there!
