bow hats

Does anyone know the tradition behind these?

Personally I don't get the point to them and IMO they're stupid. I'd prefer to not have one but don't want to offend anyone.

Edit: This is referring to the what I've seen hats made out of the bows and ribbons from your bridal shower.

Are you referring to a ribbon hat for use at your bridal shower?

In our circle, it isn't a bow hat, but a bouquet and the ribbons, bows, etc. are to be used as a bouquet during the ceremony rehearsal.  Is this what you're referring to?

My dad used to make us stick bows on our heads when we opened Christmas presents. Is it kinda like that? I don't understand why anyone would want a hat made out of ribbons.

I wouldn't wear something like that on my head. I just wouldn't. I would carry a bouquet made out of shower ribbons for the rehearsal but I wouldn't put something on my head.

Eh, I've worn stupider things on my head.  As long as they don't want you to wear it to the wedding itself, I'd just go with it.
