No one can answer that except you. If you're questioning it, maybe that means you'd rather walk yourself? My mom is walking me and I'm super excited about it -- even if my dad were alive they'd be walking me together.

no i am happy i haven't asked her to yet i know she will be happy to do it... She has really been my mom and my dad i just know that it was traditional for the dad to do it, but my dad isn't coming

If you would like to have your mother walk you down the aisle, then you should have this. It sounds like she is very special. It does not have to be a father. The only rule is to do what makes you feel most comfortable.

If you want her there I'm sure she would be honored.  You could always mention it to her and see what she says.  Maybe she would love the idea and be honored you thought of her....or maybe she would want to watch you walk down the aisle.  She could always meet you at the end and give you away even though she doesn't walk you down...

I recently went to a wedding where the bride walked 3/4 of the way by herself and her uncles (since her paretns could not be there) waited for her and then gave her away.......but like some of the other post have already mentioned, do what feels right for you. Im having my oldest brother walk me down the aisle...my father wont be attending..and I want my younger brother to walk my mom down the aisle...its your day..Ur the bride..you can do whatever you like and are comfortable with..
