cake topper

My Fiance wants a cake topper with people on it. Me personally i think its cheesy and less elegant. We can't seem to agree. I would much rather a monogram or nothing at all. I told him if i approve of the one he chooses, i might consider making the lowest cake layer larger so the topper can be on that layer to the side. Any suggestions?

I like the idea of putting it on the lowest cake layer.  I also don't really like bride and groom cake toppers.  Check out cake toppers of etsy for ideas.  You could get a custom made topper you both agree on.

have you brought up the idea of just having fresh flowers on top of the cake? maybe roses in the color you are doing or something like that? that can completely take away the cake topper arguement and bring in a new idea!!

Similar to your suggestion I've also seen people place the people cake topper on the table next to the cake. That way he could still have his topper but it's really not the focus of the cake.

i have hated almost every single cake topper i have ever seen. the ones i do like, the FI doesn't like...and i've looked on etsy and EVERYWHERE. plus, i can't see paying $100+ for something that sits on top of our homemade cake!

i finally decided on doing fresh flowers on top...that might be a good compromise. If your FI really wants people on the cake, etsy had some nice modern looking ones that can be personalized to your likeness and features (and of course, my darling man refused those too...)

I am enlisting the help of one of my friends to make them for me. I think the cake topper is one of the things you should just have fun with. If your FI really wants people on the topper try to find a fun one, but I know there is a fine line between fun and cheesy. Look on etsy!! There is fabulous stuff on etsy.
