Let me preface this by saying that I am NOT close to my dad AT ALL. From the ages of 18-21 I didnt even speak to him b/c of some things that got said, etc.. Didnt have a great childhood with him, so on and so on..
Well I have asked him to walk me down the aisle, and he immediatley accepted and seems happy about it..but I am not wanting to do a father/daughter dance. We just arent close, and it would be SUPER awkward for me. If we just skip that dance, is that ok? Or with that said, does that mean that there shouldnt be a Mother/Son dance either?
I dont want him to feel like FI and his mom get a dance, and we dont. And I dont want to have FMIL feel like she doesnt get to dance with her son because of my situation. But I just dont know how to put it, other than I just dont want to have that "special" dance with him.
All I can figure is to cut those dances entirely, and then FI and I just dance with our parents throughout the night, rather than spotlight it. Thoughts?
