wedding rehearsal..

I didn't really know where to put this so...when it comes to the wedding rehearsal, who all needs to be there? I was thinking, the bride, the groom, the officiant, and bridal party. Do our parents come? What about musicians for the ceremony? and for the rehearsal dinner... his parents are hosting and my parents are attending, as well as the bridal party (which includes our siblings). Do we need to invite anyone else?thanks!

Re: wedding rehearsal..

  • At the actual rehearsal you can just invite people that will need to be at the wedding. I had the musicians come to practice. My parents and Dh's parents were there. His parents hosted the rehearsal dinner, so they got to decide who to invite. They did parents and wedding party and their spouses. Lots of people include other family member (aunts, grandparents) and/or out of town guests. GL!

  • For our rehersal it will be the bridal party, my mom, the officient, and probably OOT family that will be arriving a few days early.  They will also be invited to dinner.. I would feel wierd not inviting them since they are there for the wedding anyway..
  • Anyone participating in the ceremony will need to rehearse.  Pro musicians will probably rehearse on their own, though.  Ask them about it.  If anyone is singing, reading, or doing anything else for your ceremony, you'll need to invite them.  You'll also include the WP and any ushers.  Generally parents come to the rehearsal because they are escorted in and have a place of honor.  If this isn't the case, they don't need to come.  For the dinner, anyone at the rehearsal, immediate families, and dates.
  • We had out parents come to the rehearsal 1) because they wouldn't have missed it and 2) they're involved in the walking in and out. You can really invite whoever you want to the rehearsal dinner. We kept it small because we wanted it to be about thanking our wedding party. So it was only parents, us, the wedding party, and their dates.
