Gifts for Parents

Are you giving your parents a gift? If so, what? I'm looking around but don't want to give them a cheesy engraved vase or anything.

Re: Gifts for Parents

  • We aren't doing this, but I know that most people just shop for them like it's a birthday or Christmas. Think of their interests and go from there.
  • I'm pretty sure we aren't doing this either. If anything, we'll frame a professional wedding pic of us after the wedding for them.

  • From a parent's perspective, please let me tell you this.  We don't want a gift from our children.   A simple note of appreciation for the love and support you received during you life up to now would be the most precious and appreciated gift to be received.  While I know all parents are not supportive and loving, I would hope there is one thing that could be said in a card.  Spending money on gifts is a waste when a special note would be so much more appropriate and appreciated.  JMO
  • I think I am going to give them a variation on what I give all my girls...and the guys.  I am making homemade freshwater pearl jewlery for the girls and tie clips or pins for the boys...I am thinking about giving these to the mothers and father as well.  They can all have something nice to wear on the day, and Iam way into matchy matchy and pearls are the best...so I will be so happy with it, and they each leave with somethng homemade and nice.  Good luck and congrats!
  • For our wedding, we are going to make a toast to our parents at the rehersal dinner. Just to thank them. Then, during the cermony at some point, we are going to present our mom's with flowers.
