I would like to have a catholic ceremony, but no one seems to want that except for my parents and I. When we had spoken about marriage over two years ago, my fiance and I agreed that we did not want a church wedding. However, I have become very involved with my church and am part of the choir. I would like to have a religious ceremony. As a compromise, I suggested that we could do the religious ceremony on a different day with just our parents and witnesses, but I do not think that idea would be well received as his parents think religious ceremonies are "overrated." My fiance is also afraid that he will not feel as emotional on the "real" day. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Am I offending people with my idea? Your help is much appreciated. :-)
