Walking down the aisle issues.

I have seen a few posts of people asking who should walk them down the aisle, I have one as well!

I am very close with both my father and my step-father. I look at them both equally. I have learned thing from my father that I wouldn't have gotten anywhere else and the same applies to my step-father.

I would love to have them both walk me down the aisle, however my biological father definitely is not wanting that. His words were "I'm your father".

So far, my father has the idea that my step-dad will walk me to my father, who will be waiting to walk me down the aisle. I find this to be odd and out of place...will my step-dad walk before me and sit down? If so, why not just have him by my side as well?

Well, my father is paying for the wedding and all...but I don't want my step-dad to feel left out because I know he love and raised me just as well as my father.

Re: Walking down the aisle issues.

  • Just saw this at a wedding.  Step dad walked her halfway down the aisle, to her dad who took her the rest of the way.  Step dad waited in place till bride & dad were all the way down & bride was handed off to the groom.  As dad found his seat, the officiant paused an extra moment to allow stepdad time to get to his seat.  It wasn't weird or awkward for anyone, everyone knew both men raised and loved her.  She did the same with the Father/daughter dance... Stepdad first, Dad next.  It was really quite seamless.
