Introductions of divorced parents

FMIL believes that her and FFIL are to be introduced together during the reception, although they have been divorced for over 15 yrs and he is remarried. 


How are you girls handling this type of situation??

We're in the same boat - this is how we're doing it:

The parents will be introduced at their table at the beginning of the reception, just before the BMs, GMs and bride&groom's formal entrance/introduction. They will stand up at their table as they're introduced

Mother of the groom...
Mother of the bride ...
Father of the groom... and his partner ...
Father of the bride .... and his wife .......

This avoids the awkwardness of who will be escorted by who.
