So my dad and I have always had a strained relationship, he is coming to the wedding but will NOT be walking me down the aisle I will be doing that on my own. I am really concerned though about the mother/son and father/daughter dance. I do NOT want to do this dance with my dad but it is super important to FMIL to have the dance with her son. I totally get this and want her to have her moment with him but am afraid it will look really weird and highlight issues for the whole wedding if we don’t also do a father/daughter dance. Also, although we have a strained relationship I don’t want to hurt his feelings by having a mother/son but no father/daughter dance… I have no idea what to do about the whole thing so any advice would be great.
