just a question

Are you still supposed to wear the garter if your not doing the garter/bouquet toss?

Re: just a question

  • I didn't.  It really doesn't matter though, you can if you want.

  • I don't think it really matters.  We're not doing a toss, but my aunt sent me her old garter to use as my "something blue".  I had already purchased blue stockings to wear, so I think it's going to be my "something old" or "something borrowed" instead.

So if you have a particular garter that you want to wear, go ahead and wear it.  But if you don't really have anything, you don't need to get one if you're not doing a toss.

This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • I'm not.  Don't really see a point if no one is going to see it - and my FI couldn't care less about a garter.  If it's something special between the two of you, wear it. :)
  • I think it's all up to you as the others said.  Mine is from my grandmother so it is something old borrowed and blue and family tradition.  You have to do what you and your fiance feel best doing.
  • I am not wearing one.

  • I think it would drive me nuts since I don't normally wear one.  If FI wants to do the toss, then I'll just duck into the bathroom & put one on.
