Hey, we are getting married in Mexico and my fiancé and I want to have Chinelos dance in the reception... but my fiancés mom (who is Mexican) said she doesn't want them because they are "scary". So I'm wondering why Chinelos are scary and if they have some connotations (besides for celebrating) that I'm not aware of-- is it cool to have them in our reception??
