My venue only allows rehearsals to be held from 1-2 on Saturday's which leaves me with a problem for rehearsal dinner. Do I hold a "Linner" at 3 in the afternoon or have everyone leave the venue, occupy themselves for 2 or 3 hours and then come back for dinner. The dinner location is right next to the venue so they really would be driving right back to the same location about 3 hours later. And most of the dinner guests are from out of town so I'm not sure what the transportation situation will be yet so that could also be an issue.
I was all set on having the rehearsal dinner right after so that people didn't have to worry about killing time in between events in a strange city and so that we could more easily figure out a car pool situation but one of my BM's is avidly against this. She wants to use that 3 hours to maybe go to a spa or something and says to expect guests to rent a car or figure it out for themselves. I kind of feel like I should be making plans with my guests in mind and feel it's kind of rude to take off to a spa while the everyone else twiddles their thumbs. I just don't know if having a meal at 3 would be weird...if I give them a heads up ahead of time do you think it would be ok?
