My fiance and I have been together for 11 years. We just got engaged this May. We have a very large family that is divided between 3 countries because we are not the tradition engaged couple and because we cannot possible have everyone at our wedding and still have it be what we want, we have decided to go to the Florida Keys and have a small wedding with just the two of us, my fiance's daughter, her husband and baby. This would be a nice way for us to celebrate our new little family.
My family is hurt that I am not inviting them to the wedding, how can I keep this simple and not hurt peoples feelings? I could have a get together when we return and show a video and pictures of the wedding...but still feel like this should be a special time for me and my fiance, not everyone else? Any thoughts on how I can keep the peace?
