Hello brides,
I have an interesting situation that I need some bridal guidance with. My fiancee recently proposed in New York about 2 weeks before we moved to Hawaii. My family , particularly my mom, is a DIE HARD New Yorker. Me, I'm not the biggest fan. I grew up there for over 25 years and I was eager to escape. Anyway, my mother can not even fathom a wedding outside of Long Island. I can not fathom a wedding costing 30 grand for a mediocre place like Long Island. My fiancee says lets get married on the mainland in Seattle where his family and friends are and I would LOVE to get married there. It is a 6 hour flight for us and NOT 12 hours. Since our move was hard enough for my family, I have not pushed the Seattle wedding, but my mother thinks that Long Island is the only possible place for us to get married. I need advice..how do I approach the subject and do I sacrifice my wedding location for the happiness of my mother?
