Groomsman cake presented during rehearsal dinner

Not sure where to post this – I am getting my fiancée a groomsman cake with comic book characters for our winter wedding - December.  Not so sure when to present it?  My dilemma – I know typically it is presented during the reception but we will be having a beautiful wedding cake (several cake flavors) and a favor table (candyland theme) with tons of treats (candies, cookies etc.) My thoughts would be to present it during the rehearsal dinner; it will be a formal dinner with a slide show amongst 50 guests.  Question – has anyone ever heard or witnessed the groomsman cake being presented during the rehearsal dinner?

  • If you're going to post the same thing on multiple boards, please preface your subject like with "XP:" for "Cross-Post."    The Etiquette board is probably the most frequented, so you are unlikely to get extra responses by posting on mulitple boards....

  • We had our groom's cake a the rehearsal dinner. Not sure what is "normal," but having dessert then seemed normal to me.
  • I think you mean a "groom's" cake, not a "groomsman's cake".

  • I think that's a brilliant idea...it sound slike it would be a waste to have it at the wedding when there are so many other sweets!

    Enjoy!
