Texas-Dallas and Ft. Worth

More formal Intro :)

Hey there all!  I never did a formal intro on here, I kinda just jumped on and started posting.  Not to mention I didn't have time, so now that I do, I am doing one!  Sorry it is so long, I understand if you dont read it all! Cool

US:

My name is Michelle, FI is Jesse.  We met at a camp in W. Texas over 7 years ago and have officially been together over 4 years now.  I am originally from NC, having just moved here 2 yrs ago in August to be close to my FI and to finish school.  We did the long distance (NC to TX) thing for the first 6 months, then he moved to NC for 6 months, hated it moved back to TX, and we were back to long distance for another 1.5 years til I moved here.  Once I moved here I was in Waco going to school and he was living an hour NW of fw, so we were closer but still long distance.  It wasnt until the past month that we are now living together in the same house and see each other every day and I couldnt be happier!!!

The Proposal:

We got engaged on Feb. 16, which was our 4 year anniversary.  I was hoping he would propose but I had kinda been hoping for a while, so if he didnt do it this night I might've gone crazy (as my mom kindly informed him I later found out! haha)  I was living in Waco at the time and planned to work that day until 3pm.  I was supposed to go by campus and drop off paperwork then head up to his house, however he insisted that I had that taken care of beforehand so that I could leave straight from work.  So I get to his house and he has a dozen red roses on the table for me(awww).  Then he tells me to hurry, shower, and get ready because we have dinner reservations and it will take over an hour to get there.  By now I was curious and thinking we were going to FW.  However, he took me to the wildcatter ranch (amazing!).  We got there and the manager met us at the door and said "Hi Jesse" (now I know something is up but thinking FI may just know the guy b/c he grew up near there and he knows EVERYBODY!)  The manager tells me congratulations, which is weird but I thought it was b/c of our anniv(actually was b/c he thought FI had already proposed).  After dinner we start driving IDK where and we end up at a park on the lake where we go boating a lot!  He takes me out on the dock and sticks my hand in his shirt pocket and says do you feel something in there you like, and I said yeah...(about to scream, cry, etc...)...so he pulls out a ring, gets down on one knee and says "so you wanna get married?"  Of course I said yes!  And to this day make fun of how informal he was about it, but it's so him!!

Wedding Details:

So we're getting married April 12 at the A and M Gardens in Azle!  Love that place, it is so awesome!  Our wedding colors are royal blue and carolina blue with some yellow and white accents with flowers and such.  We are going for a casual, somewhat rustic theme.  We just met with a photographer this weekend that we plan on booking (kelly jones) and I just scored an aweome dj deal with the Pros this morning so we will be going with them!  We are probably going to do a BBQ type buffet, which a family friend will be catering.  We are thinking about doing a dessert bar instead of a big wedding cake, maybe just having a small traditional cake to say we have a wedding cake.  I won an engagent session with a photographer in Austin that we plan on doing hopefully the first weekend of October (Is this too late???).  I am doing my bridals in NC in August with a photographer that did my senior pics b/c my dress in with my parents in NC (long story short DB screwed up on shipping so my mom picked it up so it wouldnt get lost!)  And last but not least here are a few dress pics:

I've noticed all the G2G's and was wondering if yall ever do any (or if anyone would be interested in doing any) closer to FW?  We live an hour NW of FW so it's kinda far to get to Dallas where it seems most of the G2G are at.

Anyways, I hope to get to know yall.  If I've let anything out or you have questions, let me know!! I am always up for questions/answers/help, etc!!

I've been looking at A and M gardens online but I'm in downtown Dallas and haven't had a chance to go look yet. Do you mind me asking around how much the venue rental is? Do they offer full length linens? Also what type of chairs? Sorry if I'm being too nosy? I'm still trying to decide on a venue and after 2 months of looking I'm becoming worried. I just don't like places with the baquet hall feel. So all hotels and golf clubs are off the list for me.Any info would be great.
    Thanks and congratulations.

bwasek-  I sure don't mine you asking, I love talking about it!  First I would tell you to check them out on FB, they post pics from every wedding there and that will give you a better idea of an actual wedding set up.  For around 100-150 guests on a Saturday it is $3500 and for every 50 guests after that it goes up $200.  It's a couple hundred less for a Friday or Sunday.  The price includes full length linens for all your tables (including cake, gift, buffet, etc), chairs (reception and ceremony), and tables, and a mini bar in the reception area.  The chairs are your typical white garden chairs.  But once their covered, it doesnt matter.  Table runners, chair covers, and sashes are like $1-$3 extra.  You get 8 hours total use.  They have almost like mini apartment style rooms for the bride and groom to get ready in.  I mean there is a full bathroom incl. shower, a mini fridge, sink, flat screen, and a/c. You can pretty much do whatever you want there as long as nothing is permanent.  You can bring in food and beverages.  You don't have to have security for alcohol.  They definitely provide and allow ALOT for the money!  We looked all over and this way by far our favorite!!  I would definitely go take a look if you can get over there.  The website etc doesnt do it justice!  HTH!
