Re: who will accompany me?

  • You don't really need anyone to accompany you.  Your mother can walk you, you can walk alone...  Personally, I would never "replace" my father if he had been unable to walk down the aisle with me.

If you are very close to your uncle and want him to do it, then that is fine.  But, there is no need to find someone to fill that role.
  • Your mom is accompaning you....you dont need a whole party of people walking down the aisle.

  • I think whoever you are comfortable with is the right choice.  I am having my brother walk me down the aisle.  My father is invited, but since he has been absent for most of my life I am not comfortable having him do it.  I also think walking alone is fine.  Do what your heart feels :)

Being that my father passed away, I have decided that I'll be walking myself down the aisle. My FI suggested my brother, but I'd like him to walk with my mom. I'm a strong, indepdant woman, so I think it is a great way to be true to myself. Do whatever you feel most comfortable with! :)
  • I saw a really cute video of the procession at a wedding where the bride's father had passed away.
-The bridal party entered (dancing) couple by couple, then they all danced half-way back. The bride walked the first half solo and danced with her groom and bridal party the second half. It was pretty, modern, upbeat, and classy.
