Wedding favors

Is there anybody crafty out there who has some ideas for homemade wedding favors?

Re: Wedding favors

  • Do something edible:  cookies, brownies, homemade jam, candy, chocolate dipped pretzels, gourmet popcorn, etc.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
  • Bakerella.com has some excellent, easy recipes that would make great favors.  Definitely go edible, people are more likely to take them and it's easier to deal with the leftovers for the ones that don't.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • One thing I had considered, which would only work if it is a relatively small wedding, is to make copies of a picture of the two of you, and on the back of each one, write a personal note to each guest and place them at their seat or with their escort cards. It is much more meaningful and personal, cheap, and won't likely get tossed out right after the wedding.

I had my heart set on this until my dad invited lots of friends I don't know, and I don't want to do it for only half the guests...

  • I am going to make banana chocolate macadamia nut biscotti, wrap them in up and the tag will have the receipe!
  • We're doing small pillow boxes filled with colorful candy. With our April wedding, we wanted to bring in lots of colors to the reception. We'll fill some with jelly bellies, some with skittles, and maybe some with m&ms. I just want bright colors, not pastel (which I am worried about with Easter!) My wonderful MOHs (sisters) and my mom will be helping assemble them.

  • we're doing chocolate dipped pretzle sticks (white chocoloate main color and then dirzzled with gold and green as those are the wedding colors).  we're also doing DIY gift tags with a little quote just from the two of us.  i agree with many of the other brides and grooms - edible is the way to go!

OR, you can make a donation to a charitable organization, that is also a great favor that your guests can feel good about.
