Wedding ring is a wrap instead of band.

I'm confused on what to do. What should I do if my wedding ring ends up being a wrap instead of a band? Do I give my engagement ring to the best man before the ceremony so they can both be put on my finger together? Alternatively, do I just wear my engagement ring on my right hand during the ceremony and just exchange the wrap?

Also how about pictures? I don't think it would look right to just photograph the wrap without my solitaire so is it acceptable to photograph them both?

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • For pictures, I'd get the wrap photo'd with the the e-ring, for a more complete pic and because the wrap might look a bit awkward by itself.

For putting the ring on during the ceremony, I'd use JUST the wrap.  During a prayer or somethign quick, you might can pull the e-ring off your right hand, put the wrap and e-ring together, then put them on.

Then again, if your FI wants to put the e-ring and wrap together before putting them on you, he can.  Just have the best man hold both rings.

ultimately, it comes down to personal preference... and what is easiest for you or your FI.  You could practice it several different ways to see what works best!

Good luck with your wedding plans!! :-)

I like the idea of having your best man hold both rings, and then your FI putting them together before he puts them on your finger.

That sounds like a good plan!  Enjoy.
  • I'm having mine soddered before the wedding, so both rings will be with the bestman.  That also means that i have about 2 weeks with out my e-ring :(
  • It's really a personal preference on how you want to do your rings.  Like PP, I'm having mine soldered before the wedding, so I wont be wearing any rings and will have my e-ring and bands put on during the ceremony.

  • either have him just put the wrap on top of the Ering, and then switch/re-adjust it after the recessional, or you can have a cute moment where you take off the Ering during the exchange, give it to him, he fits the wrap and then returns it to your hand.

so many brides are worried about being perfect/scripted... its okay to have a fun moment or two - thats what makes it more personal and memorable.

I think that sounds very cute. : )
  • I also had mine soldered together in the weeks leading to the ceremony.  Therefore DH just put them both on at once.  I'm really glad that we did it this way.

This is what we have to do too, but I won't have it for about a month! :(
  • I have a wrap instead of a band too and I made the decision to give my engagement to the best man and have the two rings put on my finger during the ceremony. I'm sure it will be weird to have a naked finger after wearing the ring for so long, but ultimately I think it's a better idea than to have to take the ring off during the ceremony. As far as pictures go, definately have the rings together for them. It wouldn't look complete otherwise.
